How to Monetize Your Blogs

Other than direct sales and adsense, are there any other methods you can make money from using your blog? Yes, there are several, but three are usually used more often than others: 1) lead generation; 2) affiliate marketing; and 3) newsletter subscriptions.

Of all the other methods you can make money from with your blog, lead generation may be the most promising. This is an especially true if the market your blog is in is related to anything financial. Mortage and refinance leads are especially good, as they bring in tiered commissions. Your first commission will come when you generate the initial lead – which will simple entail getting someone to fill out a completely free form; this lead will earn you anywhere from $3 to $12. If this lead then goes on to refinance her home with the company in question, you could earn a windfall of several hundreds or several thousands of dollars.

The other methods you can make money from with your blog include affiliate marketing and newsletter subscriptions. Affiliate marketing generally consists of either directly signing up as an affiliate through someone's website – or signing up as an affiliate through a third party. You will then use your blog to market this person's products for a share of the total price. If you sell information products from Click Bank or Commission Junction, you can earn as much as 75% per sale; however, if you sell physical products, such as chairs and tables from Link Share retailers, such as Wal Mart, you will earn a 7-15% commission at best.

If these other methods you can make money from don't sound appealing, you can always consider newsletter subscriptions. You can create an opt-in page or a “squeeze page” on your blog and offer a trial subscription to your newsletter. If you provide quality content and promote your blog, you could end up with hundreds of subscribers over time.

Other methods you can make money from on your blog include selling advertising space directly and selling site memberships that allow visitors to access certain server-side tools.

Aside from the fun it brings, blogging can also give you profits even if you are not a businessman. In fact, there had been many people of different jobs that claimed to have gained benefits through their blogs. There are many ways one can profit through blogging.

1) Trade Advertising – the most common way to generate income through your blog is by means of selling spaces in your blog to business institutions. Through this, you may directly consistently earn money.

There are bloggers that offer the spaces in their blogs for a certain period. This would mean that a space can expire depending on the agreement of both the blogger and the business institution. The Write Way To Make Money Online

One money making opportunity everyone should have a go at is blogging for  profits. There are literally millions of blogs today, dealing with everything from serious technical stuff to the daily experiences of ordinary teenagers.

Simply put, a blog is an electronic journal (diary) that you can update  anytime, anywhere as long as you have an internet connection.

Here's a couple of reasons why you should try blogging for profits :

Starting a blog is easy

There are lots of online tools that allow you to build a blog by simply  clicking a few buttons and making a few selections. Sites like Blogger and Wordpress offer free blogs to anyone who wants to have one. They make the set up procedure painless, and you can have your blog up and running in a few minutes! Take time to learn the basics of running your blog. With time, you will be a real pro and ready to take on the next challenge - setting up your own blog with your own domain name!

Write about any topic under the sun

Think about what you're passionate about - that topic that you could talk about for hours on end. That's your topic! There IS no right or wrong topic for a blog. You'd be surprised that even blogs about everyday "mundane" stuff like cooking and cleaning house can attract a large audience. If you're not used to writing, it's okay. Just write as if you were talking to your best friend. Don't worry about not knowing everything you write about. Every blogger learns as he/she goes along and interacts with his/her audience.

Lots of money making opportunities for bloggers

The easiest way to make money with your blog is join a pay-per-click (PPC) program as a publisher. It won't cost you anything. You paste a small piece  of "code/script" into your webpages that will display advertisements on your blog. You will earn money every time someone clicks on these ads. The amount you earn for each click depends on the type of ads that are displayed. The more competitive ad categories will earn you more. There are many types of PPC programs that you might want to consider, but I would recommend the Google Adsense program. Thousands of web publishers are making good money simply by letting Google place relevant ads on their websites or blogs.

PPC is not the only way to make money with your blog. You can sell advertisement space directly to advertisers or though a broker (which is  easier), or you could place advertisements that link to products or services that relate to your blog. You make money if the person clicks on this ad and purchases that product. This is called affiliate marketing.

Blog at your own pace

The beauty of blogging for profits is that you can treat it like a part-time hobby, a freelance cash earner or a serious money making business. There's no right or wrong way to blog. But chances are, when you see the money coming in from your blogging efforts, you are going to want to find out how you can make more! Many blogging moms are content to post every other week, satisfied with the income they derive from this pace. Then there are the mom-turned-professional bloggers who actually build a solid and steady income from blogging. It's up to you!

So is it that easy?

Yes and no… (Don't you just hate these kinds of answers?) Yes because, with money making programs like PPC, you CAN make extra money. No because you won't make ridiculous amounts of money overnight.

Like any other business or website, blogs take time to reach their full potential. The larger your audience, the better your prospects of making more money. The key is to write about stuff that you love, yet interests and excites your audience. Eventually, as you let your personality shine through your blog, you will get a faithful group of readers who probably will end up being your friends! It's going to take patience, but if you love the topic that you write about, it's going to be lots of fun blogging for profits.

Blogging for Bucks

Can you imagine earning money for expressing yourself? It may sound too good to be true, but there are plenty of people already doing it. They are Internet bloggers, and they may be working either as individuals or as corporate employees, trying to build customer relationships which will improve both their market shares and their profit margins.

Can you support yourself with a simple blog? Well, if you have the right blog on the right topic, yes. But just any blog will not do it. Your blog has to offer something which will attract an audience, because money-making blogs are, first and foremost, advertising vehicles.

Maybe you blog just because you love the freedom of expression it gives you. Maybe you blog privately, pouring out your innermost thoughts to a nonjudgmental ear. Maybe you are a reach-out blogger, trying to get raise awareness for your favorite charities and causes. Maybe you blog to make friends and influence people, or to find your soul mate. Maybe you blog because you like attention. And just maybe, you blog to make money.

You can blog for any of the above reasons and make money at it. But first you need to learn about the two ways in which blogging can build your bank account: the direct, and indirect, income methods.

You can either make money from your blog, or you can make money because of it. That may seem like splitting hairs, but it's really not. Both ways depend on how successful you are in attracting readers.

Many people use their blog to earn income as affiliate marketers. If you can draw an audience to your blog who will then click on links you provide to other marketers' websites, those marketers will pay you a commission if your referrals buy something. You first have to sign up as an affiliate marketer at the other sites, and then build a blog or blogs to attract people who will be interested in whatever those marketers are promoting

You are effectively targeting an audience for that marketer, saving them the cost of advertising. But blogging as an affiliate marketer means you will have to restrict the topic of your blog to material related to what the marketers are selling. If you really want to blog on animal rights, don't post affiliate links directing your audience to hunting weapons.

If you have been blogging long enough and well enough, you may consider "branding your blog" and selling items with your blog's name or logo--coffee mugs, caps, and T-shirts can generate both income and curiosity, possibly bringing in new readers. But you have to be really sure of your audience's loyalty before shelling out the expense for the merchandise.

If you are exceptionally sure of your audience's devotion, you may even ask for donations from time to time, should you not be making enough to keep spending the kind of time it takes to maintain your blog properly. If your blog has become a favored gathering place for your readers, the idea of having to look elsewhere for the same camaraderie and quality input may make them happy to contribute.

If your blog is taking up so much time that you will have to make a choice between it and your day job, consider making it a subscription blog. But only do that if you have a blog so unique that no one else is offering the same thing for no charge. If you are at the top of you field in a given subject, you just may be

able to make a subscription-based blog work.

You can also make money from your blog by building it into a real audience grabber with sophisticated graphics, first-rate, current content, and a wide readership, and then selling it. You can offer your blog on one of the many Internet auctions, giving potential buyers a chance to view its quality and the size of your reader base.

Affiliate marketing, branding, asking for donations or subscriptions, and building a blog to sell it are all direct income ways of making money from your blog.

Indirect ways of making money from your blog include making yourself available to provide content for those who like your writing. By supplying your blog with accurately researched, understandable, and well-written original content on a regular basis, you may come to the attention of people needing freelance writing done for both online and offline publications.

Your blog, if well-written, may also generate speaking opportunities for you. Your readers may belong to offline groups looking for someone to conduct seminars on the topics your blog covers. While there may be no fee for some of these offers, you might take advantage of them as ways to network, and attract new readers.

The larger your audience, the more chance you have of employing direct income methods to turn your blog into your full-time job.
